GHS Federal Credit Union is a local, not-for-profit organization that prioritizes the financial wellbeing of our community members and offers products and services that meet the needs of each unique member, regardless of their financial situation. Shredding unwanted, personal and confidential documents is a great way to protect your personal information, and maintain financial and overall wellness.
Free shred days at GHS are offered twice a year to the public. Beginning in 2020, GHS began offering a drive-thru option to make the event more accessible for the community to attend and have their documents shredded. In addition to creating a more accessible event, GHS began partnering with local community organizations to add a philanthropic element to shred days by collecting donations to local causes. In past events, GHS shred days have benefited Broome County organizations such as the American Cancer Society and United Way of Broome County. Donations are not required to shred, however, the community has been incredibly generous in the past.
